ANTI-LOCKDOWN PROTESTERS ARRESTED IN BERLIN: Even though a court has banned protests, thousands of people took to the streets of Berlin to protest COVID-19 restrictions on Sunday, according to Deutsche Welle. The police said almost 5,000 people took part in the event, resulting in almost 600 arrests. Police reported that the dissidents “harassed and attacked” officers in Berlin’s Charlottenburg quarter, dismissing roadblocks.

The protest was organized by the Querdenker (Lateral Thinkers) group, the most vocal opponents of Germany’s coronavirus restrictions. Querdenker has attracted anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists and parts of Germany’s far-right group, Alternative for Germany (AfD).
