American actor Jay Pickett has died at the age of 60.
The soap star – famed for appearing on General Hospital, Days of Our Lives and Port Charles – was on set and filming a scene for his upcoming movie, named Treasure Valley, when he died, according to the film’s director, Travis Mills.
Travis penned a statement on the Treasure Valley official Facebook page where he shared that there was “no official explanation for the cause of his death” but said it seemed to be “a heart attack.”
He also added that the crew and cast are mourning the star, alongside his “devastated” family.”
The message read: “Many of you have already heard about the tragedy that happened two days ago. Jay Pickett, our leading man, writer, producer, and creator of this movie passed away suddenly while we were on location preparing to film a scene.
